Kara Richardson Whitely is the author of Gorge: My Journey Up Kilimanjaro at 300 Pounds, which is being made into a movie starring This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz. She took on 100 miles of The Long Trail in 2020 and wrote about being fat shamed along the way in this piece for Backpacker magazine.

As an advisor & influencer, she helps brands connect with the 67 percent of women who are size 12 and above. She has worked with L.L. Bean, KEEN, Pfizer, Uber, Smuckers, Discover Puerto Rico, HIKI, Novo Nordisk and more.
