Welcome back to another episode of The Advantage Line. As you know, we don’t shy away from talking about the big issues and today is no different as we tackle the question: 100 men vs 1 Gorilla who would win, but of course we are putting our own unique NRL spin on things. It is that time of the season again where teams from NZ and Australia converge on Brisbane and Caxton Street does enough trade to shut down for the rest of the year. It is Magic Round. Who will that favour, who will not want to be playing in Brisbane this week? We look back at the weekend’s biggest games. Teddy has come down from cloud 9 after his beloved Bulldogs got a pounding, but taking his place is Karl and the rest of the Wahs faithful who might be starting to think “It’s our your” after an exciting ANZAC day win. So while you tackle that gorilla put on some headphones and tune into The Advantage Line.…
Welcome back to another episode of The Advantage Line. Guess who’s back, back again. Teddy is back, warn your friends. That’s right our good mate Teddy is back on the Advantage Line, which is a good thing as we enter winter as he’ll be able to warm us up with his hot takes on the latest news and action from the NRL. While Teddy has returned, Karl is forced to do this week’s pod from home after sustaining an injury shortly before kickoff. The Warriors left it late, but despite injuries, returned to winning ways. As they say, “Once is a mistake, twice is a habit” and the Warriors made sure that losing to the Storm was not the beginning of a habit. The Bulldogs have been doing alright this year, so we’ve been told, so full warning Teddy may be gloating a bit more than normal while his beloved Bulldogs sit on top of the NRL ladder. As usual, we’ll breakdown last week’s games while looking ahead to this week’s upcoming matches.…
Welcome back to another episode of The Advantage Line. This week Searley and Blake join regulars Karl and Paul on the pod and we break down last week’s results including what happened in the first half of the Warriors vs Storm game. Is it something to be concerned about, or can we take some positives from the game. Paul shows us his moves and then stumbles over a player name. We wouldn’t be a NRL podcast if we didn’t discuss the Lachlan Galvin story, but we compare him with the other big earners in the NRL and ask, who would you prefer Lachlan Galvin or… We then preview this week’s games, will the Warriors be able to return to winning ways now they are playing back at home, but they do have a couple of injury concerns going into their game against the Broncos.…
Teddy is away, so we have gone to the bench and replaced him with an absolute legend in Phillipa Morris from Trackside. With Pip being a Panthers fan, we have to ask are the fans already waving the white flag this year? Blake Ayshford retires from gambling… only to return a few seconds later. Quite the emotional roller coaster. We launch the campaign to bring back the good ole fashioned chip and chase in this week’s Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Is The Bunker slowing the game down too much in a bid to crackdown on illegal tackles? We look ahead to this week’s games as the Warriors return to action after a week off.…
Teddy joins us for the final time before going on a long break, so does he have a few choice words before he leaves the Advantage Line. We try to look through the evidence to see if those “Massive Signing” rumours are true are merely a cruel April Fool’s joke? Speaking of signings, who has been the Warrior’s biggest ever signing, and we get overly technical with it. Of course, it was another big weekend of NRL action, so we breakdown all the action.…
In semi-breaking news, Dylan Walker has left the Warriors so Teddy and Searley give us their raw reaction to the news, but it appears there is a positive spin to this story. In this week’s good, bad and ugly the Warriors were good, while winning ugly. Speaking of the Warriors, how will the Warriors move on after the injury to RTS? In other big news that came out this week, DCE live TV announcement that he will be leaving Manly. What announcement would you love to make on live TV? We also look ahead to this week’s games, and once again we are looking for any potential surprises.…
Searley returns to the podcast after being MIA in Vegas, and we get the scoop on what happened. We go over the good, the bad and the ugly from last week’s games. Of course the Warriors have returned home and returned to winning ways, so what does the panel make of the performance compared the to Vegas game. We also discuss what happened between a fan and a Manly player. Teddy begins his first decent into conspiracy theories for the year as he questions a number of tries from the games last week.…
The Advantage Line discusses the good the bad and the ugly as they recap the fixtures from Round 1. Blake Ayshford is back to celebrate his Round 1 picks and attempts to organise a TAL sprint race. Teddy predicts the first coach to be sacked and whether the Knights have made a mistake as the team previews Round 2 of the NRL.…
Karl gives us an overview of his Vegas travels. What do the trio think of the event in Vegas, was it a celebration of Rugby League and what can be improved next year. Teddy is already asking for changes after the first game in Vegas, and Teddy must have said something strange as Karl agrees with him at one point. We have a cheeky game of guess who, who out of Paul and Teddy will be able to guess our mystery player. We begin our preview of NRL Week 1, part 2 who will be beginning the season with a win this year?…
This is it! The beginning of the new NRL season, and we are in Vegas for the opening game between the Warriors and the Raiders. Karl is joined by Blake and Searley….actually Searley is supposed to be here, but I guess what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Karl and Blake talk about how Vegas has been treating the fans, but how the Wahs fans have just taken over. Of course, we also preview the games being played in Vegas. Vegas has been amazing so far, and it will only get better with just over 48 hours to go until kick off.…
The pre-season is over, the NRL regular season is about to begin, and the Warriors are in Vegas to kick things off. Does it get much better than this? What can we learn from pre-season? Is there anything to suggest that the Panthers won’t continue their domination of the NRL for many more years. We attempt to keep things PG as discuss what is the one thing you should do while in Vegas. Of course, we finish our season preview by looking at the teams that finished in last season’s top four. Does anyone think we will be seeing a similar top 5 in 2025?…
The Wahs had a great pre-season game, but does it actually matter. Can we really read anything from pre-season games to predict how the season will play out? Teddy is quick to shoot down any excitement Wahs fans have from pre-season as he questions the the team the Warriors have played during the pre-season. We are looking at tips 5-8 from last year’s ladder and how we think they will go this season. Any team going to make a push for the title this year, and who won’t be playing playoff footy again. Could Donald Trump really go to the NRL in Vegas. The Newcastle Knights, Sea Eagles, Bunnies, and Cowboys are put through the five words or less - or song - preview.…
The Wahs have announced Co-Captains for the upcoming season, so our Co-Captains Paul and Karl get Teddy’s thoughts on the announcement… and you can probably guess where Teddy stands on the issue. After Mahomes performance in the Super Bowl, which players has had a similar performance in the NRL? We continue our 2025 preview taking a look at the Broncos, Dragons, Dolphins, & Raiders and trying our best to stick to five words or less to describe their season last year. The Grid is back once again, and this time Paul thinks he is in with a chance of winning… but does he?…
New year, new equipment, same old Paul, Karl and Teddy. We preview the teams that finished at the bottom of last year’s table, and debate if they will be occupying the same position at the end of this year, or will there be a surprise package in the group? Paul takes a break from the NRL chat to reveal the real reason why the trade that shocked the world actually took place in the NBA. A simple game of five words or less breaks out into a song title competition. The NRL grid returns this week, and this year we will be keeping track of things to ensure there are no dodgy claims of high scores as the weeks go on. Karl asks that all important question: Is it the Wah’s year?…
Welcome back to The Advantage Line podcast. Sadly it is that time of year again, where the league season has come to an end and we begin the long wait for the start of the next season. But, we still have some massive international league action to look back on. The panel of Karl, Paul and Teddy reflect on the final league games of the season.…
