Manage episode 356790746 series 2945549
Hallie Avolio is a mom and a wife who is passionate about teaching both men and women to live their lives to the fullest by prioritizing self-love. She began her career in sales, but early on realized that corporate life with all its bureaucracy and red tape did not fit her well. But then at the same time, being a stay-at-home mom didn't either. Hence, putting herself into a predicament where her health and relationships suffered. That somehow led her to that dark path due to anger, frustration, and resentment. After having her third child, she put more pressure on herself that she got to figure everything out before she reaches 40. Soon she would realize she had to walk that path and experience such a rabbit hole in order to truly find the light which will also pave the way for her coaching career to help other people love a life limitless.
Highlights:
- Health and wellness - so many industries related to nutrition dictate that we look a certain way, but this approach has become more destructive than helpful, especially among women who mostly feel they do not measure up resulting in negative self-talk
- Self-love approach - when you understand who you are and what your purpose is, you optimize your health by fueling your body with the right and nutritious food
- Self-awareness - two pivotal moments that served as catalysts to her massive shift: when her husband told her he was leaving their marriage and her breakdown in the dressing room
- Self-compassion - reframe all your negative self-talk; acknowledge the greatness within you
- Steps in making a sustainable shift: do not be afraid to ask for help; step into your feelings by stating your intentions at the start of the day
While many of us are consumed thinking about other people's expectations of us, Hallie suggests we should approach life empowered and authentically creative. This means we have to identify around 3-5 core values and live life accordingly. If you want to learn more about self-awareness, bounce back from fears and failures, as well as figure out how else you could grow and improve your relationships, Hallie has exercises for you. The most simple of which is, to give yourself a 5-minute treat a day.
