The Antiracist Deck - a conversation on race and racism
Manage episode 330112890 series 3340458
Talking about race and racism and having antiracist conversations is vital if we are going to see lasting and meaningful change. But conversations on race can be difficult for many, particularly when they are of different ethnicities.
Professor Ibram X Kendi is an American author, antiracist activist, founding Director of the Boston University Centre for Antiracist Research and a historian of race and discriminatory policy in America. As well as writing a number of books including “How to Be Antiracist” and “How to raise an Antiracist” he has created a tool to help people talk about race – The Antiracist Deck.
Steph Edusei is joined by Risaria Langley, friend, writer, performer and producer, in conversation prompted by the cards in the Antiracist Deck. Neither claim to be experts in the subject of race, however, this is an honest and wide-ranging dialogue between two people who feel safe with each other.
