There are two pieces of furniture in the outer court of the Tabernacle. They are the brass altar and brass laver. After being saved by grace through faith from Yeshua dying on the tree (brass altar), we spiritually progress to being cleansed (brass laver) from a sinful lifestyle. The brass laver is the second piece of furniture in the outer court. In the outer court, the priests washed their hands at the laver. Our hands represent our service in the Kingdom of God. Spiritually, washing at the laver represents being cleansed from sin and water. At the brass laver, you wash your hands and feet. Spiritually, our hands represent what we do and our feet represent our lifestyle. Spiritually, we are washed from a sinful lifestyle by washing (learning and then seeking to obey) the Torah / Word of God. Spiritually, leaven in the Bible represents sin. After the children of Israel put the blood of the lamb on the doorpost (saved by grace through faith), they ate unleavened bread which spiritually represents seeking to live a holy life and was ‘immersed’ in the Red Sea representing water baptism. Spiritually, in order to be washed at the brass laver, we need to “put off” the flesh and “put on” seeking to obey the Torah / Word of God. The brass altar was made from the mirrors of the Israelite women. The Torah / Word of God is a mirror. After being saved, we need to look into the Torah / Word of God and recognize our sinful lifestyle. We judge ourselves by repenting of our sinful ways and seeking to obey the Torah / Word of God by putting it upon our mind and heart. Are these teachings a blessing to you?
