Recently, there's been a significant increase in the number of people in Pennsylvania seeking treatment for alcohol addictions, drug addictions, mental health matters, eating disorders. And so what we're doing is we're doing a series of podcasts to help people wade through the information of seeking treatment when they realize that they need to turn their life around or move into recovery, either for themselves or their loved one.

What most people find when they are looking for rehab or treatment for addiction is that they haven't done this before. They're not current backgrounds and in rehabs and treatments or addiction and it can be a little overwhelming. So we're going to walk you through just the steps to take when you're looking for a rehab center in Pennsylvania. What's on offer locally and what might you need to go into state for.

So, we're just going to start with the importance of defining the type of treatment that you do require. So are you looking for drug rehab? Are you looking for alcohol rehab? Are you looking for drug and alcohol rehab? Are you looking for depression treatment, eating disorder treatment? Have you got a specialist area such as a requirement for teen rehab?

There are a lot of different types of rehab. Some facilities will deal with multiple issues under one roof, and others will deal with only specific issues. So the first step is to define clearly what type of treatment that you're requiring.

The next step is to determine the style of rehab that you're looking for. There are mainly two styles. The first one is inpatient rehab. Inpatient Rehab is where you take the decision to leave your common environment, your home or where you live. And you go and you check in. You check in like a hotel or a hospital, you check in to the rehab center, the facility and you stay there and you receive your treatment there and you live there while you're receiving treatment. So you're very much taken out of your environment. Now. This is a very helpful requirement for people who are in serious serious situations and, you know, they are the loved ones who are concerned for their safety and their health or, or their life. Right. So that's inpatient rehab.

Secondly, we have outpatient rehab. outpatient rehab is where you stay living where you are currently and you receive treatment by visiting treatment facility that might be a rehab, it might be a clinic, it might be a bit like a doctor's surgery type situation, and receive treatment their medications you receive counseling and training and and all that's available standardly in inpatient rehab, the difference being that you can still continue with your life, you're still in your same environment, you will still be able to work and look after children all the thing or all the obligations that you have in your standard life. So there's two types of there.

The big separation between types of rehab, particularly here in Pennsylvania, so we would then move on to cost like everyone's concerned about the cost, rehab is renowned for being quite costly. However, given the laws here in Pennsylvania, and nationally, there is the requirement that insurance in most cases is to cover rehab that they need to cover alcohol treatment programs, and they need to be covering drug rehabilitation, these kinds of things. So most people who are insured are quite pleasantly surprised to find out that their insurance is going to cover their recovery, their treatment. They're either drug or alcohol detox or whatever it is that they're requiring.

If you don't have insurance, there are still many options available for you in state. So there's everything from free rehab options right through to very luxurious rehab options. There is a lot in between. So given that every situation is different. Each person has different rehab requirements that they might have, they might be rehabs. that deal specifically with this type of addiction might be a type of illicit drug or prescription drug or alcohol, that there might be specialist options available. And also some insurance providers only fund treatment at certain treatment facilities. So we know all that, that's what we do. So what we find the easiest thing to do is just to get in contact and we can help you work out what treatment you need and help narrow down the field so you can be fully aware of what's going to work for you and help you shortlist the best options for you and then you can go and see those facilities and make your own choice based on what you need.
