On this episode I chatted Ban Nguyen. Ban is from Vietnam and came to the states after the Vietnam war as a refuge with his family. Ban and his family came to the states and were adopted by a gentleman in Tulsa. This Oklahoman owned a gas station, took Ban's family in gave them a job and a way to make a living. After much hard work Ban's father was able to save up and buy a house. Ban and his families new life in Oklahoma had started. Ban went to school in Tulsa before being accepted in to OSU. With education being the road to success for his family he studied hard but also equally enjoyed his new life at OSU. New experiences, independence and the American college life. GO POKES! After college Ban struggled to find a job due to the economy at that time in the mid 80's so he went to work for his father in law Mr Lee at Jimmy's Egg. With no intention of ever working at a restaurant Ban started to pick things up and quickly got to work for his father in law. Soon he decided to open up his own Jimmy's Egg on NW highway and McArther near Bethany Oklahoma. That was it, Ban was now in the restaurant business. Since that day he hasn't looked back with 24 stores of his own and over 70 stores in 11 states Jimmy's Egg is a well known breakfast spot for many in Oklahoma. There is a lot more to this story and I'm hesitant to share anymore to spoil the story. You'll just have to listen. Thank you to Ban for coming on the podcast to share your story and to Mr Le for the legacy he has left in this state, may he rest in peace.

This episode is presented by the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Telling Oklahoma's story through it's people since 1927. For more information go to www.oklahomahof.com or follow them on instagram www.instagram.com/oklahomahof
