With the UN's Climate Summit coming to Glasgow in November this year, we joined our friends at Learning for Sustainability Scotland at their event, Feeling the Pressure: Planetary health, participatory democracy and you, as they discussed the Summit, also known as COP (Conference of Parties).
So, in this BONUS episode ahead of Series 2, we hear from Caroline Rance, Energy & Climate Campaigner at Friends of the Earth Scotland, who gives us an overview of what COP26 is and suggests ways that teachers can incorporate it into their lessons - including why she thinks it's so important for all of us to learn from others who are coming from around the world.
We also hear from Martha and Jessica, two pupils from Muthill Primary, who came along with their teacher, Keri Reid MBE, to share their learning. You can watch the 'Global Goals' video they produced with the Juliet Johnston School in Ghana here.
The afternoon session welcomed Dr Alice König and Dr Peter McColl whose Keynote talked us through the RSE's Young Academy of Scotland's Charter For Responsible Debate, via 'liquid democracy' and 'loser's consent'.
If you enjoy the episode, help us spread the word: leave us a review, give us a rating, share, ReTweet, Like & tell your friends. It makes a huge difference - thank you! And keep an eye out for Series 2 on the way very soon...
About us and the show...
For Global Citizens inside and outside the classroom, our fortnightly show is aimed at anyone interested in where we're heading, what's going on in the world around us and what we can do to affect change.
