• Watch: Stephen Colbert Interviews Smaug from ‘The Hobbit’ Trilogy

  After posing for a photoshoot inspired by Peter Jackson’s trilogy adaptation of The Hobbit, late night satirist and future inheritor of "The Late Show with David Letterman," Stephen Colbert, continued his love for all things J.R.R. Tolkien by interviewing the one and only Smaug the tyrannical, the dragon under the mountain.

  Critics just hated the first installment in the Divergent series of films. They thought it too formulaic and predictable. I found the film to be okay — yes, occasionally formulaic, but… ahem… diverting.

  I’m not really a huge fan of Hal Rudnik, but he managed to not be too annoying during this interview and it’s certainly worth it to get a few nuggets from James Gunn about Guardians.

• Trailer for Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’

  I think it’s safe to say that this doesn’t look at all like anything Pixar has ever done before — and that’s probably a good thing.

• Jonathan Frakes is Interested in the ‘Star Trek’ Director’s Chair

  I’m very interested in this. Frakes directed two great Star Trek (TNG era) films. And don’t let anyone tell you Insurrection was terrible. It wasn’t.

• Rupert Wyatt Reportedly on Shortlist to Replace Roberto Orci in Directing Next ‘Star Trek’ Film

  Studio is high on and has met with Rupert Wyatt, who helmed Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and the new remake The Gambler with Mark Wahlberg for Paramount. He seems to be atop this list, but he’s got company.
