It can be hard to say no to opportunities in the best of times. We are trained to think of every gig as an opportunity that will lead to the next one, and the next one. So if we say no to one, we are cutting ourselves off to all of the potential other jobs that could have stemmed from that. So when the going gets tough (and we're in a pandemic so... how much more tough can the going get?) it feels near impossible.
