Welcome back to the show! For this, our 70th episode, we’re absolutely honored to be joined by none other than legendary photographer, artist, and author Glen E. Friedman to discuss the genre-defining 2001 film Dogtown and Z-Boys! Chronicling the rise of the fabled Zephyr Team in the 1970’s, this Stacy Peralta-directed documentary brought the roots of modern skateboarding- along with names like Tony Alva, Jay Adams, and Shogo Kubo- into the cultural mainstream, while paving the way for a slew of like-minded documentaries to follow. As a co-producer and creative consultant on the film- as well as having been pool and bank-side for many of the Z-Boys most renowned formative sessions- Glen brings a unique and truly one of a kind perspective, which he was gracious enough to sit down and share with us in candid detail.
