You just never know who you are going to meet at the boat ramp. If you are in Nevada bass fishing, you just might happen upon Silver Rogers. If that name does not ring a bell, maybe Black Silver or Black Ice do? You see, Silver is a retired rap artist who has toured all over with such artists as Ice T, Foo fighters, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Even then, his heart was never far from the water. He was always looking for the next best fishing hole on his days off while on tour. But now, when he is not paying bills as a promoter, Silver is mining for bass. In this episode, Silver hits the smallmouth bass mother lode!

Fishing experience

Born in Tennessee, Silver’s family moved to California when he was young. Growing up in L.A., most of his early fishing experience was in saltwater. While touring, Silver began pond hopping on his days off and took a liking to the fresh water. Now, he fishes the big waters on the Colorado River system near his home in Las Vegas. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are now the gold standard for Silver. Year-round, catch-and-release Nevada bass fishing is what Silver is all about. In this episode, we talk about the day he caught his personal best smallmouth bass (and yes I am jealous).
