On July 21st, the Steamboat Sound Check podcast had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Drew Holcomb while the band conducted their sound check at the Strings Music Pavilion in Steamboat Springs, CO. This unique setting provided a vibrant backdrop, with the sounds of instruments tuning and final preparations blending seamlessly into the conversation, offering listeners an authentic behind-the-scenes experience.

Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors were in town for the kickoff of their "Greetings from Colorado Tour," a four-night run through some of Colorado’s most scenic venues. The tour would take them to Lake Dillon Amphitheater for a free show on July 22nd, Mishawaka Amphitheater in Bellvue on July 23rd, and finally, Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder on July 24th.

During the interview, Drew Holcomb shared insights into their journey over the past year, highlighting the success of their latest album, Strangers No More. This ninth studio album has made waves, especially with the Americana hit "Find Your People," which reached #1 on the Americana charts and found viral success on Instagram Reels and TikTok. Holcomb reflected on how social media has transformed music promotion, expressing both surprise and gratitude for the unexpected boost in their song’s popularity.

The conversation also delved into the band’s extensive touring schedule, and Holcomb's thoughts on being invited to be a part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

In addition to discussing past successes, Holcomb shared insight on the band's forthcoming album, Strangers No More Volume II, set for release on September 12th. The new album, which features songs like “Soul’s A Camera,” “Suffering,” and “Way Back When,” promises to continue the band's tradition of heartfelt and reflective music. Holcomb expressed particular excitement about “Burn,” a track featuring Ellie Holcomb, recorded during the original Strangers No More sessions.

As the sound check hummed along in the background, Holcomb's genuine passion for music and connection with his fans shone through. The interview provided a comprehensive look at the band's recent achievements, ongoing projects, and the exciting future that lies ahead.
