In this episode, your host Stacia Keogh reflects on the reasons why we often hold back from speaking out and explores the concept of people-pleasing as a common barrier. She shares personal anecdotes of breaking free from societal expectations, finding her creative voice, and reconnecting with her Irish roots. Stacia also discusses her journey as a somatic coach and the importance of listening to our own bodies and hearts. Join us as we delve into the power of storytelling and the transformative effects of embracing our true selves.

Here are the Highlights:

  • [02:43] Daughter's rebellion, my efforts to rescue her.

  • [06:17] Exploring creative voice through Book It, Repertory Theatre, I performed literature as theatre, bringing books to life

  • [09:29] I met my extended family on an Irish cycling adventure in 1995 to see the mythical land where my family came from.

  • [12:11] A suppressed story is now being told, heard, and felt. We have found the words, and courage to speak up, despite the taboo.

  • [16:11] Stay tuned for our next episode, where Helen Snape's new book uncovers the true nature of the good girl.

About Stacia:

Stacia began working with businesses writing corporate training videos that were as entertaining as they were informative. She is an actor and performance storyteller appearing on world stages and public venues and small screens everywhere. As a resting actor in London, Stacia learned the dark arts of advertising and how to use her story and acting skills to enliven pitches and presentations, notably J Walter Thompson, The Really Useful Group, Imagination and as an Education Officer at Kew Gardens.

Currently working with professional service providers to step into their own story to share their wisdom on panels, podcasts, and signature talks, 1:1 or Group Training programs

If you play video games or listen to audiobooks chances are you’ve heard her voice guiding you through adventures.
