We've talked before on The Music For The Soul Podcast about the impact music can have on the lives of others and how you never know just how many lives you touch with your voice. That is why we are so excited to have singer, songwriter and composer extrodinare, Danny Mitchell, to share stories from his career working in music. Danny talks about how he got started in composing and performing music, how he overcame self-doubt in his work, and how he has seen his performances impact the lives of others. He also shares how projects he's worked on for Music for the Soul have impacted his own life and why it is so important to create as an artist, because it allows us to create a ripple effect that can touch the lives of others. Who is Danny Mitchell?

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Danny moved to Nashville shortly after earning his bachelor’s degree in jazz piano and composition. Since then, he has worked steadily as a freelance musician in and around Nashville, and across the country.

As a composer and arranger, Danny’s work runs the gamut from small chamber pieces to full symphonic works. His “Dawning of a Soul” has been performed by the National Wind Ensemble in New York City’s Carnegie Hall under the direction of H. Robert Reynolds. In 2021, Danny was commissioned by the University of Wisconsin to compose a piece of music that reflected the hardship we experienced during the pandemic of 2020 and beyond. “From the Depths We Rise” received its world premiere by the University of Wisconsin-Madison wind ensemble under the direction of Scott Teeple in April 2022.
