In the fourth episode of "The Power Of Truth," Duane Sheriff teaches the role of sanctification. The truth of God's Word possesses the transformative power to set believers apart from the world's deceptions and lies. John 17:17, Jesus prays, "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." He explains that sanctification, or being set apart, happens supernaturally through exposure to and embracing God's truth.
In John 15:1-3, Jesus speaks about being the true vine and believers being the branches. God's Word prunes and cleanses, cutting away the dead, unproductive parts of our lives to help us bear more fruit. These ministries help believers mature and attain the fullness of Christ, no longer being tossed to and fro by deceitful doctrines. Sanctification is an ongoing, daily process facilitated by a deep, abiding relationship with God's Word, enabling believers to grow in faith and truth.
