Many psychiatric drugs commonly prescribed to adolescents are not approved for people under 18. And they are being prescribed in combinations that have not been studied for safety or for their long-term impact on the developing brain. Psychiatrists and other clinicians emphasize that psychiatric drugs, properly prescribed, can be vital in stabilizing adolescents and saving the lives of suicidal teens. Even though they are intended to be used as a 'short term' cure, many children end up being prescribed psychiatric medications for years suffering terrible side effects. So, what's the alternative?

Dr. Anbar is also a past President, fellow, and approved consultant of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
Dr. Anbar is a leader in clinical hypnosis, and his experiences with hypnosis since 1998 have allowed him to successfully treat over 7,000 children.
