Manage episode 360985872 series 2990376
The Podcast are sipping and chatting about the three part documentary called Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal. This was made by Jenner Furst and Jennifer Willoughby Nason and is currently available on Netflix -
And of course - the actual trial has been going on and wrapped up just a couple of days after our podcast. So many people were talking about this family and the series of events we were all made aware of in the documentary.
So if you missed this whole situation, The Murdaughs were a VERY well known family in an area referred to as "Low Country" in Hampton, South Carolina. They had a century old family law firm and seemingly sort of ruled the town, including the police force and officials in the local government. Before he resigned in 2021 amidst fund-misappropriation accusations, Alex Murdaugh (the dad) was a powerful civil litigation lawyer that was basically famous across the Palmetto State. His father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all state prosecutors who, like Alex, maintained a ton of power and leverage with local authorities.
The kitties are trashed but mange to get out most of the details and we have a GUEST who gives us an interesting tidbit NOT covered in the documentary.
This documentary earned 12 out of 8 paws (feet were added) so you should defenatly check it out!!
