Just in time for Pride Month, Rebecca Thorne's new sapphic SciFi novel, This Gilded Abyss, introduces us to a world of extremes with a strict and sprawling monarchy. Sergeant Nix Marr is a dang good soldier who is desperate to leave her dark past deep in the ocean, buried alongside her best friend, Quian. When Subarch Kessandra, the realm's favorite royal (& Nix's ex) requests help investigating a massacre in the abyssal city of Fall, Nix refuses. It doesn't take long however for Nix and Kessandra to board a ship bound for the horrors of the ocean floor.
