My father, Dr. K once stated: "The most essential educational experience a child can have in elementary education is Show & Tell."
He also said in order to effectively explain something you need to break it down & sum it up.
Today we are going to do the math and break down some more numbers.
All in search of a magic formula.
There is a magic formula.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Did you know there are only 12 tones in Western Music?
All pitches originate from one of these tones.
But look at the astounding amount of brilliant music that has resulted from only 12 notes.
The Western Alphabet derived from the Greek Alphabet has only 24 letters.
Look at the near endless amount of literature that has been written from only 24 letters.
There are only 3 primary colors (blue, red, yellow) with a total of 24 named colors on a color wheel.
Yet the human eye can distinguish nearly 7,000,000 color variations. Add to that the infinite works of art that start with only 24 standard colors.
Tones, letters and colors can be organized into formulas.
One type of formula can be a routine.
One type of formula can be a method.
One type of formula can be a regulator.
One type of formula can be a system.
One type of formula can be an application.
Today we are going to focus on systems and applications.
And we are on location at Guru Technologies to do just that.
First, Disneyland one more time.
To improve the guest experience, Disney turned to technology.
Disney is one of Guru Technologies past clients.
Certain systems like Disneyland lines evolved into stand by lines, Fast Passes, Lightening Lanes, and virtual queues.
For food purchases, Disney also adopted mobile ordering apps. They became self check out kiosks in your hand.
Hand held self check out registers.
Paper tickets iterated to virtual tickets and now Magic Bands.
Find out how before Covid-19, health care was a closed loop system much like proprietary operating systems, like Windows, in the past. The emergence of Linux, an open source operating system, that powers Android helped even the operating systems playing field.
Similarly, AWS --Amazon Web Services, "transformed web based businesses and made it so businesses didn't have to spend 10 million dollars on data centers, but could spend $200.00 on a credit card and get the same thing.
Thanks Trenton Cook and Guru Technologies for hosting us!
