For their debut release, Goodness have looked to friends, family, and collaborators who have helped define the platform by featuring at the events over the years. Included in the compilation is the single 'Consumption' by Memory Play featuring Grove, a burst of energy at the peak of the compilation's journey. The idea behind the compilation is to capture the essence of a Goodness night, casting a wide net out over a range of leftfield dance music sounds that might feature at the parties. Goodness events offer a broad, omnivorous experience of dance music, so too does this release. An aural synopsis of a Goodness show, it moves from gestural, textural ambient, through figurative IDM and drummy techno and back again. The release will be accompanied by a bespoke collectible USB sculpture designed by Emir Karyo, and was mastered by Beau Thomas at Two Eight Seven Recordings. ABOUT GOODNESS Since their debut show in 2017, Goodness have established themselves as one of the UK’s foremost outlets for experimental-led electronic music experiences. Previously active in Bristol, Manchester, and Oxford as well as London, recent years have seen the party mature in the capital, pushing an expansive and ambitious musical policy across both club and live shows at venues like FOLD, the ICA, Iklectik, and Ormside Projects. Goodness has consistently demonstrated bold programming, with recent bookings that range from Lanark Artefax and Plaid to Mama Snake, Moritz von Oswald, Aleksi Perälä, and Actress. At a time when caution and predictability pervade the UK electronic music scene, Goodness strives to keep things different, whether through their lineups, venues, production, or overall concepts. Their past ventures include an intimate live show featuring Seefeel and Surgeon’s Girl in the Grade-II listed tunnel shaft of the Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe, as well as the creation of a '90s-style in-club gaming zone to launch Cold Storage’s iconic wipEout video game soundtrack in collaboration with Barcelona-based label Lapsus. They’ve also partnered with the London-based scenographic collective Badweather on a modular installation called Pipeline, constructed from salvaged materials, light, and smoke.
