Hung Cao, a retired Navy Captain and Republican nominee for Senate in Virginia, joined The Guy Benson Show today. Cao shared his harrowing story of fleeing communist Vietnam with his family in 1975 and his journey to the United States. Cao discusses how his upbringing and his family's escape from communism inspired him to serve in the U.S. Navy, paying back the country that gave him refuge. He's now running for Senate, facing off against incumbent Tim Kaine, who Cao calls one of the "Terrible Tims" of the 2024 election cycle, and Benson and Cao dive into his candidacy and why he's focused on bringing his values of service and sacrifice to Washington.
