On this episode of The DEB Show, host Debra Eckerling talks about winning with Aime Card, Annie Korzen, and Liz Lachman. Aime is author of "The Tigerbelles," Annie is an 85-year-old TikTok influencer and author of "The Book of Annie," and Liz is a filmmaker, whose documentary "Susan Feniger FORKED" is currently on the film festival circuit. All three have pursued projects that define what it means to win. The trio share their thoughts on winning, perseverance, and failure; how to maintain a winning and creative spirit, and more.

What Does Winning Mean to You

- Liz: The last few years, I've been trusting my gut and my instinct more. Rather than saying, what will others like? I say, what do I like? The thing that means winning to me is when I get thrilled when people are impacted by my work

- Annie: Finally have the gratification of being appreciated for qualities I always suspected I might possess, but always apologized for (being too talkative, honest, opinionated, etc.). Young people are responding to me in a way that my own peers never did

- Aime: When something I have worked on resonates with someone else. For instance, when I get feedback from anyone who reads the book and I know my writing got through the page and reached somebody

Words to Live By

- Aime: "I'm tired is not the time to quit."

- Annie: "Yeah, why not"

- Liz: "Leave me alone"

Goals

- Annie: Phone a friend who doesn't realize you feel like they are neglecting you

- Aime: Get out of your comfort zone

- Liz: Literally jump for joy

Final Thoughts

- Annie: To appreciate what you've got, make the best of what you've got

- Aime: Gratitude goes a long way

- Liz: Another therapist told me. Your head is the secretary. The gut is the boss. The gut says, here's what I want to do. The brain makes it happen. Don't confuse the two. Don't let the brain start making the decisions.
