You know Some of the most fun I’ve ever had in the business was directing films, let me qualify that … short industrials, commercials and marketing projects, not features! . I think it was because directing demands the best of you… its pulls out all your creative juices, challenges your organizational skills, and the hope is that the final result of the sweat will show itself on the screen.
You might not connect the 2 right away but editing is to film making as a mix engineer is to songwriting.
MTV set the standard of video editing several years ago with its quick cuts, crazy color schemes, and giving editor creative freedom … Glenn Lazzarowas one of the developers of the MTV style of editing, He’s also a director, musician, graphic designer, and whatever else he's needed to make make magic on screen.
