He served with the FDNY for 17 years. He was a member of E42 and E81 in the Bronx, NY. Edwards currently serves as a member of DART team, Disaster Assistance Response Team who deploys during disasters to assist individuals, families and communities during a disaster. Edwards is also a big proponent of “giving back” to all who helped during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. His new book “Coming Through the Flames” is a memoir dedicated to his children, some of whom did not get to see their dad as a fireman since he retired before their birth.

Phillip Cappadora jr, first born son to FF Phillip Cappadora SR, is the founder and CEO of the Astoria Filmmakers Club (AFC), a nonprofit organization for filmmakers in NYC and the Hudson Valley, recently awarded two NYS assembly citations of service for his charity works and for the Triborough Film Festival, NYC’s exclusive Battle of the Boroughs. Phillip Jr wrote the pilot episode of “FIRELAND” an AFC original episodic series about the FDNY in the prior decade to 9/11, inspired by Chris Edwards book, Coming through the Flames.
