Manage episode 289097405 series 2820712
Today, we're bringing you information on some interesting developments in the real estate industry. Real Estate Exchange, an Austin, TX real estate startup, recently filed a lawsuit in federal court accusing Zillow of anti-competitive behavior after Zillow's new listing layout began obscuring the visibility of certain listings in favor of more easily viewable Zillow-affiliated posts on their site. Additionally, Trulia and the National Association of Realtors (NAR) are also named in the suit. This news reiterates previous points we've made on the #ForeclosureDealsCoachPodcast about Zillow's ability to steer the real estate industry with the amount of listing and real estate data they have access to. If you control all the information, you also have the ability to determine which pieces of information are made available. In a free market, one data provider having access to too much information can only lead to a vacuum of influence and power. Listen as Donny breaks down the situation, and stay tuned for the latest news in real estate investing.
