On this episode of FNI Wrapchat, joining Paul Webster is showrunner, Bafta winning executive producer and priter of 2021's new exciting Dublin set crime drama, Kin- Peter McKenna.
Peter McKenna has written extensively for film, television and stage. He is the creator and Showrunner of RED ROCK, an award winning drama for Irish broadcaster TV3, which was acquired by AMAZON PRIME and the BBC. He has just completed writing episodes of forthcoming dramas THE GLOAMING (ABC Studios/STAN), THE LAST KINGDOM (Netflix/BBC/Carnival), and AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS (BBC/ZDF/Seven West Media) starring David Tennant.
Other writing credits include THE MUSKETEERS (BBC1/BBC America), THE LIVING & THE DEAD (BBC1/BBC AMERICA), FRANKIE (BBC 1), CASUALTY (BBC 1), and THE CLINIC (Parallel Productions/RTE), where he was Head Writer and Story Consultant.
He also wrote a “genre-breaking” episode of EASTENDERS in 2018, incorporating the testimonies of family members of knife crime victims, that was awarded a BAFTA.
Peter currently has a number of shows at various stages of development including HIDDEN ASSETS (ACORN TV/Facet 4/RTE), and KIN (BRON Studios/Octagon Films/Headline Pictures) which was co-created with director Ciaran Donnelly, both are scheduled for production in the near future.
