This week host Sara J is joined by Dylan Gleit, guitarist for CO. based six-piece Eminence Ensemble.

In this part one of a massive conversation, we take it back to where it all began for Dylan in Long Island, NY, and the music room in his childhood home. Dylan takes us on his journey with music which includes excelling at the recorder in elementary school and eventually gravitating toward guitar.

Dylan shares what it's like being a lefty, how that helped him learn to play, and what "Reelin' in the Years" by Steely Dan and Jimmy Page has to do with Dylan getting his first real guitar, a Les Paul.

We talk about other musical influences, Suhr Guitars, and the Jake Blade, winning a Primetime Emmy Award for his insanely creative contribution to the Netflix drama thriller Mr. Robot.

Then we get all into Eminence Ensemble, their history, and Dylan joining the band in 2020. Dylan shares how Kris Myers (the drummer for Umphrey's McGee) is the reason Tanner Bardin (the drummer for Eminence Ensemble) was able to find Dylan and offer him the opportunity to audition for the band, an audition that required Dylan to take a leap of faith and drive from New York to Colorado during a global pandemic.

We also talk about Eminence Ensemble's newest release "Inside Looking Out", the inspiration for the album, the art, songwriting during the pandemic, what the band has on the calendar for the second half of 2024 and so much more.
