A spokesperson says the Eswatini government is pleased that the Southern African Development Community (SADC) has dropped the country from its agenda. SADC has been holding regular consultations with the Eswatini government and the Multi Stakeholder Forum of Eswatini following deadly pro-democracy protests in 2021. The opposition says the SADC decision means the regional organization is not upholding its key principles of democracy and human rights. Government spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo tells VOA’s James Butty, SADC decision proves that the Eswatini government is able to solve its own issues without compromising any SADC principles
