Manage episode 330230223 series 3222862
Géraldine Fauville is Assistant Professor in Education, Communication and Learning at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. She specialises in research that focuses on the role that immersive technologies can play in promoting ocean and environmental literacies. Géraldine is currently engaged in a collaborative project with Stanford University researching the much talked about effects of Zoom fatigue - that is, the physical and emotional effects of video conferencing and what they might mean for our longer term relationship with the technology.
There is very little current and ongoing research into the impacts and implications of our new ways of working so it is important to get a baseline of understanding and then explore the different types of fatigue. If we are going to successfully create hybrid cultures with more flexible ways of working our understanding of how and why we use the tools we have available - and if they are the right tools - will need to improve. The research team has created the ZEF (Zoom exhaustion and fatigue) Scale and you can take the questionnaire here to find out your ZEF score while also contributing to the research.
Read more about the research here and get some tips on reducing your ZEF.
