Welcome to Culturas Unidas, and our first episode in English! Today an amazing interview with bilingual children's book author, Diana Santamaria, creator of DLee's World, bilingual Spanish-English books about a little girl with big red glasses. Guess who the stories are based on?! Diana herself! in her interview she shares what it was like to grow up shy with big glasses, and she talks behind-the-scenes about who inspired her and supported her to start writing and publishing her books. Diana also shares how she got her amazing name and how she finds time for new ideas as a mom of a very active toddler. It's all inside episode number 8 of the first season of Culturas Unidas!
As the entire interview is about children and learning I just had to include a special mini-interview with my six-year-old daughter, Mina. We talk about Spanish, she practices counting, and she shares some wisdom about the world as only a child can. And you won't want to miss the jokes at the end!
