His career began with a leading role in King of the Gypsies for which he received his first Golden Globe Award nomination. He was nominated again at the Golden Globes for his role in Bob Fosse's Star 80.
With over 700 credits to his name, it was so hard to pick one film Eric had worked on, he is truly one of the greatest actors of our time. I decided to go back to 1983 and talk about one of the most craziest characters he portrayed in his career.
Star 80 is a 1983 American biographical drama film written and directed by Bob Fosse. It was adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning Village Voice article "Death of a Playmate" by Teresa Carpenter and is based on Canadian Playboy model Dorothy Stratten, who was murdered by her husband Paul Snider in 1980. The film’s title is taken from one of Snider's vanity license plates.
