Kurt Jenkins is an indie filmmaker that did what every filmmaker inspired by the indie boom of the 90's dreamed of. He made a film where the story OF the film might just be as good as the story IN the film. Richard Linklater, Robert Rodriguez, Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino and more blew our minds with their back alley entry into the film biz. Their stories said: "Hey if we can do it, so can you". I feel like Kurt Jenkins has the modern day version of that story to tell. Enjoy listening to me pick his brain and dissect just what sort of magic took place in the lead up to him going incognito at his workplace and "stealing" a film. Continuing the momentum with an episode featuring Leanne Mauro whose career has taken her from stage to screen alongside Old School Hollywood royalty. Leane worked with me on what's ended up being my biggest filmmaking endeavour earlier in the year. We reccount a little about the film and our process before diving into Leanne's craft.…
Creating some momentum before the new year with a podcast featuring an actor from Hollywood blockbusters to one man stage shows, Shane C. Rodrigo. Shane worked with me on what's ended up being my biggest filmmaking endeavour earlier in the year. We abandon the interview format and get a bit raw with the ups and downs of filmmaking, enjoy.…
Moving up in the world with this one. Legit job title, check. Degree helped secure the job, check. Cool bosses, check. On tap Milo, check. Workplace #17 - Infomericals Occupation - Prop Master

Despite being forced to look at and analyse my own relationship with work and job searches it's still really easy to fall into the same old traps. A short recounting of how far I thought I had come compared to how far I've actually come. Not the biggest of differences but it's amazing how far our minds can stretch what we know.…
3 jobs deep at this point my latest addition to my collection brings me a new meaning to frustration which pushes me further along the heroes journey. Workplace #16 - events equipment rental Occupation - Somewhere between Donkey, Labourer and Taxi Driver.
As my collection of shitty job experiences grew I started to push the boundaries when I saw red flags. By doing so this became a shitty job that I made work for me. Workplace #15 - Pool Building small business Occupation - Donkey
On paper this was the best job I had ever heard of, in practice things weren't so straightforward. Being employed at multiple workplaces was giving me a level of comfort when it came to dealing with this step up in quality. Workplace #14 - Professional Gambling Occupation - Data Analyst
This was the point where i started collection workplaces like baseball cards. This was my second not too good but not too bad sort of work environment so it made a fine addition to my collection while it lasted while also giving me better experience behind the bar. Workplace #13 - Wedding Reception Occupation - Bartender…
All the misery from my past jobs brought me to this point where i had to take a page from the book of the Twisted Sisters. This weeks job wasn't amazing but it was good when it should've sucked thanks to a bunch of shitty jobs getting me to this point where i could self advocate. Workplace #12 - Gelato Shop Occupation - "Manager"…
If this podcast followed the hero's journey this would be right before the part where the hero figured out what he thought he wanted and set out on his journey. We've had a string of shitty jobs but this is where things start to change if only i was mentally prepared to receive the good fortune that came with this job. Workplace #11 - IT Company Occupation - "Marketing Specialist"…
If this podcast were a movie this would be an episode that wouldnt make the final cut. Last weeks episode was the beggining of the Rocky Montage that leads to victory so naturally this episode is meant to be something more challenging or victorious. Instead this is the purgatory episode. Between the bad and the good without much going on at all. Workplace #10 - Newspaper Factory Occupation - newspaper folder…
Through a but more nepotism i was able to source the lowest of lows for me workwise. Just like Samuel L Jackson in Snakes on a Plane we all reach a breaking point where we declare that enough is indeed enough. This was sort of that. Workplace #9 - Butcher Occupation - Donkey
Down on my luck the gods of nepotism extend their reach and offer me a chill roll as a bartender where i can dip my toes into hospitality without needing a heap of experience. Workplace #8 - Catering Company Occupation - Bartender
