Send us a text There were some wonderful, inspiring teachers back in the 1960s, as there are now. Some teachers used corporal punishment as part of their practice. This episode is not meant to suggest or imply that all teachers slapped and caned children back then. Many, many teachers had positive impacts on us that truly enhanced our future lives. This episode is not about them. Corporal punishment was common in Australian schools in the 1960s. Getting the cane was something that, once experienced, is never forgotten. Why were children caned? What else was used as punishment in school? And why was the Host slapped for not being relaxed enough when he was 6? WARNING- This episode discusses corporal punishment administered by teachers to schoolchildren in the 1960s. Listener discretion is advised. Thanks for listening! You can contact me on facebook www.childintime.life (2) Scott Watson | Facebook Instagram www.instagram.com/scott9999x…
