Welcome, Neighbor! All the cool people hold their headphones instead of wearing them... It's a busy day today because we're having TWO parties in ONE! The annual Soup-er Bowl Party, in which we pretend to care about football but we are most interested in the food... Luke (The Pod Ninja) is a Fair Weather Football Fan. But he thinks there's something wrong with the men who care too much about sports... Next: The Peaches asked The Pod Ninja to make some boxes, and he nearly killed himself. But, speaking of boxes, there's a story in there about how to make your wife (and daughter) sing and dance in the kitchen... Later: Silas turned seven, and his intricate birthday decorations have reminded us of the benefits of PLODDING. Email the Comedian's Family at nextdoor@johnbranyan.com…
Sound Bites "Crowd work is all pretty much the same." "Grammy award winning artists on the riff session." "We are in absolutely every part of your life." "I don't remember caring who was president." "I was going to do a whole YouTube channel of drum covers." "I made sure he was okay. Because he biffed pretty good."…
Hello, Neighbor. We know that YOU are very theologically astute, so YOU know that it's important for Christians to order their loves. God, then Family, then countrymen... But, not every Christian agrees! JD Vance got himself in trouble for saying this is a Christian concept. Contact the Comedian's Family by emailing nextdoor@johnbranyan.com…

Let's get this things started, Neighbor! Who needs the Comedian?! John wants to ask Luke a sincere question about knives... But Luke has some strange utensil habits. (And this reminds us of the Double Sauce Fiasco...) So many contradictions! Then: Do we need a "Christian Andrew Tate"? What would that even look like? Christians love the idea of being able to win people to Christ by being cool and popular. But that's not the method of spreading the Gospel that seems to be described in Scripture. Later: What's the difference between a "role model" and an "authority figure?" Contact the Comedian's Family by emailing nextdoor@johnbranyan.com…

Pour yourself a steaming cup of water and join us at the table! Keep some distance from the baby or he might hit you with his butternut squash... What's the protocol for giving someone a pet as a gift? (Luke and his sister receieved rabbits one year. It was traumatic.) Later: Is there any podcast doing more work for the Kingdom of God than Joe Rogan? He hosted an Old Testament scholar recently...and probably millions of people are going to be saved as a result. This is a pretty meandering conversation at the table... How popular is Bridger's name? There's snow in the forecast, but we'll believe it when we see it... Also--Luke is wearing a fur coat that (he thinks) makes him look like he's ready to overthrow a Roman dictator. At some point, we touch on how to get Artificial Intelligence to write our books for us. Later: There's a place called "Vender City" in Kokomo. Have you ever heard of that? Is it a chain? Probably not. If any of our rambling thoughts triggered some of YOUR rambling thoughts, send them to us here: nextdoor@johnbranyan.com…
We have (by 'we' I mean 'ME') technical issues still. Bad sound quality and flaky microphones but we perservered. I'll be working to get these issued solved by next week... Some Lines To Listen For "There's no finite amount of ideas." "You guys hate mothers." "I can connect these dots easily." "Is it really okay now?" "I was just fascinated by that." "A ton of advantages." "Cockatoos were too big." "Iguanas are taking over South Florida." "We have eradicated the Asian hornet." "I have scales. I'm a fish person." "It's like looking at a golf ball."…
Hey, Neighbor! Please send your messages of shame for Luke to: nextdoor@johnbranyan.com . There are many things we can abide, but removing the cream cheese frosting from the middle of a pumkin roll is NOT one of them... Next: Grandpa John and Grandma Lori bought the annoying gifts this year. But there was PLENTY of music at Christmas! We love singing, and most of us can hear when we're doing it badly. So that's something! Then: What is it about musical theater that is so captivating! (Spoilers, it's EVERYTHING.) With LIVE theater, you never see the same show twice! It's sooooo cool! Don't forget the subtitles...and sing like you don't realize someone is listening. Later: It's annoying when people with "ADHD" describe what goes on in their heads, as if it's not totally normal. The difference between someone with ADHD and someone who gets to church on time is discipline. That's it! Be on the lookout for John's new children's book. He was able to write it because he has learned to override his ADHD. Thanks for supporting The Comedian Next Door on the Fight Laugh Feast network!…
The Youngest Branyan Sibling is home--but we don't remember what we were going to talk about. (We DO remember how to speak a little Spanish, though...) Later: Andrew is not going to miss 2024 very much, because it has been treating him roughly. Here are several out-of-context bullet points to tell you how bad Andrew's move to Missouri has gone: --Godfather Landlord --Stump vs. car --Cat cheese If you're still confused, you can try listening to the whole episode. But it may not clear things up very much. Merry Christmas from our family to yours, Neighbor! Contact us at nextdoor@johnbranyan.com…
