Spill the Creativity is a podcast that talks about the good and the bad about choosing a creative career. This is going to be a cup of stimulation for creatives -- a warm cup of tea in this bitter-sweet pursuit. In this podcast, we will be having conversations with other creatives that will inspire us, keep us encouraged to learn new things, and push us to reach our own goals. This is also the place where we will be acknowledging the hard truths because while this path is fulfilling, the truth is that there's no easy way to do things. It all takes work. The creative pursuit is filled with frustrations, but it's probably one of the most satisfying paths you can take in your life. So let's get that hot cup of tea and get on with the conversation!

Spill The Creativity: A Podcast for Creative Entrepreneurs

I'm usually the kind of person who doesn't really give a shit about age. Like I'm not the kind who tries to hide her age or who feels embarrassed about being older. But I think because of all the things that happened to me in the last couple of weeks, closing the chapter that is my twenties made me feel so emotional. It makes me want to grieve that era mostly because I realized that a big chunk of the 20-something year old me are things that I have outgrown, and things that I am now longer going to cary with me as I enter my 30s. I really DON'T want to be dramatic, but I feel like I'm shedding my old skin. And while my 20s were probably the greatest years of my life so far, I know that it's time to say goodbye to an old identity. And so for this episode, as I wrap up this chapter, I want to share with you the top 20 things that I learned in my twenties. Enjoy! -- If you enjoyed this podcast, I would really appreciate it if you can give me a 5-star rating on Spotify, and a 5 star review on Apple podcast. Well, in this episode, Denice of @sestravisuals shares with us her secret on keeping the momentum to show up and thriving as a Filipino Freelancer. In our conversation, we also touched on some really interesting topics like: The importance of having a community and being surrounded by like minded people in this journey The mindset shift from catering purely to foreign clients to now serving local clients How she stays sane through having a slow lifestyle This was a much longer episode by Riverside has done me dirty (again...) but thankfully, I was still able to get the meat from this episode. In this episode, I finally got to process my thoughts around hiring your first team member and delegating tasks. I find it funny that I'm sharing advice about this when it wasn't too long ago where I was pulling my hair out figuring out why none of this is working for me. But as they say, the best teacher is experience. And over time, I think i'm slowly starting to get the hang of it. So for this episode, I'll be sharing 5 things I wish I knew before onboarding my first hire. Hope you find this helpful! "I needed to take a pause and find myself again so I can rekindle the spark and love that I have for my business." - Kath In this episode, I had the chance to literally sit down with one of my good friends, Kath of KCD Digital where we talk about how she took a step back from her business this year. We dive into: 1. The Importance of Rest and the crucial role that it plays in maintaining productivity, creativity, and overall well-being. She shared how taking intentional breaks and self-care practices allowed her to recharge her energy and show up better for her business. 2. Setting Boundaries and why it is vital for maintaining work-life balance and preventing burnout. She shares about the icky conversation she had with her clients where she communicated this change to them. 3. How Finding Yourself Helps You Show-up Better. We dove into the importance of understanding yourself, your values, and your passions can fuel your entrepreneurial journey, helping you show up authentically and excel in your business endeavors. If you're a freelance creative, I'm pretty sure you've heard the question: Is that career even stable? And to finally put that question to rest, I invited one of the people whom I look up to on the Internet--both for her talent and her looks (lol), to share her take on this question since she's been in this space for far too long. In this episode we talked about: - how people thought she was a scammer because she was inviting everyone to be a freelancer (it's giving MLM) - how she finally found her own space and stayed in a fast-paced industry - the importance of showing up even when you're fully booked (felt this a bit too much lol) - and finding opportunities abroad -- specifically Spain Resources and links: If you want a free community for aspiring Filipino OBM: https://www.facebook.com/groups/onlinebusinessmanagerph/?ref=share_group_link If you're done with traffic and want free healthcare: Aspiring Filipino Freelancers/digital nomad that wants to move to Spain https://www.facebook.com/groups/960459551980571/?ref=share_group_link If you want to connect with Suzie on social media: TikTok/Instagram: @suzie.bongalosa And if you want more episodes like this, I would love it if you can can give me a 5-star rating on Spotify, and a 5 star review on Apple podcast. "I have to give myself permission first to outgrow some of the things that I do in business." - Hanna Outgrowing things--especially those that you hold so closely in your heart is never easy. In this episode of Spill the Creativity Podcast, I share with you a conversation that I had with Hanna (again) way back in May 2023 when we were both going through the motions in terms of personal and professional transitions. As highly emotional people, these changes were so hard to come to terms with mainly because: 1. We have kind of attached ourselves into a certain idea of how our businesses should be 2. We have spent so many hours and resources developing this idea/persona 3. Letting go is not always easy... And so if you are going through a transition yourself, join our conversation and probably learn a thing or two from our own experiences. Spoiler Alert: we are both in much better places now which could only mean one thing--these transitions will never be a walk in the park but they are somehow necessary. Enjoy! "The frustration that you experience when you work in coffee shops is the price you have to pay for having this lifestyle. It takes a while to get used to it, but when you do, it's actually really fun." - Sarah Having experienced what it felt like to work outside of my messy work desk made me swear that I will NEVER be a digital nomad. But after having this conversation with Sarah, I think I might try again and give this digital nomad thing another try. Welcome to Spill the Creativity Podcast! In this episode, I'll be speaking (again) with Sarah of @scaleonsocialsmedia to tell her about my frustrations about being a digital nomad, while she shares her insights on why she prefers this kind of lifestyle. I had so much fun talking to her, and I love that she shared some valuable tips for those who want to give this a try as well. From struggling with crappy wifi in cute coffee shops to bloopers with immigration officers, I think that we had it all covered! So if you're planning to go on a working trip soon, be sure to tune in until the end (because we pretty much just made chika in the beginning lol), to hear tips from the digital nomad herself. "We have now the opportunity to change and we now have the opportunity to choose. We are ever evolving and we are really supposed to change as humans anyway." As you might already know, change is inevitable. But why is it so difficult for us to deal with when it happens? In this episode, I talk about the fear and anxiety that goes along when we deal with change--whatever change that could be. Because yes, change is scary, change is uncomfortable, but change is also pretty normal. Maybe it's about time that we stop resisting it and just allow it to guide us? Spill The Creativity: A Podcast for Creative Entrepreneurs

"We're not supposed to churn out creative content 24/7. We are humans, we are not robots, and we need to rest." Welcome to Season 2 of the Spill the Creativity Podcast! Season 1 has been such a wild ride, and I had sooo much fun trying out this whole podcast things as the person behind the mic and not behind the whole podcast production process. Talking to passionate people with different perspective and hearing your thoughts and feedback about the episode really made my heart full. And as we open a new episode, I want to talk about something that triggered me to take quite a long pause (2 months). And that is creative burnout. When you're in the business of creativity, sometimes (oftentimes??) we have this pressure of always producing content. But what happens when you are completely drained out? In this episode, I share with you 3 things that I have learned as I *tried* to navigate through my own creative dry spell. Hope you find this episode useful!
