Story-telling / Story-listening podcast explores multiple Indigenous and cultural epistemologies (worldviews, sciences, pedagogies, cosmology). It documents a practice of recording oral stories/teachings as a method of preparation for climate change (changes to land, water, living beings and inter-relationships). The host, Jessica Hum, aims to build relationships of mutual respect and reciprocity, producing a series of podcasts which serve as a boundary object. As a self-identified Indigenou ...

I'm a former lawyer who realised that I was living a lie; my idea of success was skewed, yes I had the fancy car and the lifestyle, but as cliche as it sounds, none of it made me happy. I have a new definition of success now and it's all about simplicity, truth and happiness. I am on a mission to share as many real soul stories as possible to inspire others on their life journey to happiness. xx

Our Island Story was first published in 1905 and became an instant classic. Beginning with the Romans and following the triumphs and foibles of the good, not so good and the downright despicable figures of history; we are treated to a dazzling montage of kings, queens, barons, knights, explorers, movers and shakers that have played a key role in the history of England. Marshall freely mixes folk tale with historical fact and in so doing paints a very vivid picture of the past in a style remi ...

The history of the 1692 Salem Witch Trials told through music and story-telling in a format recalling an old time radio drama with a modern experimental prog-rock twist. Witch Hunt borrows freely from original sources of information from the time of the trials such as letters, books, poems, transcriptions of the trials themselves, as well as melodies from the Puritan hymn books. The music is highly original art-rock ranging from soft ambient soundscapes to heavy power riffs with many other s ...

I stumbled upon a means of healing my broken heart and crushed spirit through telling my story of my childhood sexual abuse. The world's advice had been, just get over it. Gods advice was share it and write it all down, for anyone to read. This was my deliverance and turning point back from chaos and dysfunction. The fog I lived in for many years has cleared and I am free to pursue, overtake and recover all that the enemy has stolen from me. Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/deborahmay ...

This podcast starts out by telling my story of struggles with anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and depression. Along with coping skills and the stories of others, we as a group can lessen, if not rid ourselves of these dissorders all-together.

I didn’t set out to become a paid speaker or a professional podcaster. But those things happened. And it all began the day I started telling one simple personal story. You have a story like that. On The Aaron Schlein Story, I share everything I learn about building your personal network, expanding your influence, and monetizing your expertise. It all starts with that ONE damn story.

We all live and tell our stories, yet sometimes those stories are stories of fear, doubt, lack and limitation. Most of the time those stories are the stories we have inherited from past conditioning and we just got used telling that story. The stories we tell create our reality. If we want a different reality, then we need to tell a new story. It is time to create a new story ~ mindfully, consciously and intentionally. Each episode will cover the topics that will help you mind your own new s ...

I don’t want anybody else stuck where I was. If I can help one person by telling my story, then it’s worth it. We all deserve to liv ...

The "origin story" is a superhero movie staple: how one everyday individual discovered extraordinary powers and realized her or his destiny of defending the city, country, world, or galaxy. In the journalism world, Tiffany Liou has one of the most inspiring origin stories you'll hear. She didn't go in J-school. She took a job in marketing. But she …

Based on John chapter 3 verses 22 to 36 & Mark chapter 6 verses 14 to 29 The Death of John the Baptist His life had been outstanding. It had even begun with a miracle when his father, Zechariah, had met the angel Gabriel in the temple and been told that at long last God had heard their prayers, and would give them a son as the forerunner to the lon…

Hey Storytellers, Killer horror is what most people think of when they think of the horror genre. Hey Storytellers, Nothing is more frightening in horror than children. If you haven't watched Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House (season 1) it is worth it. So much horror deals with children in some shape or form. Learn more at https://skullrpg.com Get the free Tell Your Story course here What happens if you turn this on its head? What happens if…

Hello Storytellers, There are only two types of NPC's: those that are forgotten and those that are remembered. Sadly, most storytellers have forgettable NPC's. That is a shame because with a little work (and not a lot truly) you can create 1 - 3 NPC's that the players could love or absolutely hate. This brings your game to life. Now I am not advoca…

If you listened to last week's episode you'll know that the story ended on a cliff-hangar! We were dashing out of Westminster Abbey to go and meet Queen Charlotte! Will we get to Windsor Castle in one piece? You'll have to listen to 'The Second Black Queen of England' to find out! I am honoured to be joined on this episode by one of my good friends…

Hey Storytellers, One way to amp up the suspense and terror is to put your players into a "closed-loop" scenario. If you ever watched any movies from the 1980s or before it was very common to have this happen to your heroes. There is a storm, the phone lines are cut (and cell phones don't exist yet), everybody is trapped in one location like a mans…

Hey Storytellers, So many times the party moves at the pace of the wizard in medium levels. I know that DnD 5 helped with this problem from earlier additions, but still, there is a way to bring in suspense and terror (if that is what you want) in your game. What if the party cannot rest? What if they just cannot stop safely or they are interrupted …

Hey Storytellers, Do you have one of those players that obsessively read the monster manuals? They know what the monster is by the beginning of the second sentence of flavor text. But that isn't the worst part, is it? No, they immediately tell everyone at the table how to fight it, the monster's strengths and weaknesses. This would be fine if they …

Hey Storytellers, I have played some of the great DnD games that were converted from DnD Version 1 or 2 into 3.5, but after you play through the Temple of Elemental Evil or Castle Greyhawk or even the Tomb of Horrors can you really reuse these? The short answer is yes, but not with the same story, traps or monsters, most of the time. Take the city …

Based on Mark chapter 2 verses 1 to 12 The Paralysed Man ‘So we’re going to do this then?’ one of the friends asked. ‘We’re going to take him to Jesus?’ The other three friends nodded their heads determinedly. ‘Jesus heals people,’ one of them said. ‘No one’s ever gone to Jesus and not been healed, so we will take him - today. I know he’d go himsel…

Hey Storytellers, Gothic horror uses elements of death heavily, but sometimes has romance included as well. Poe was well known for this and Dracula by Bram Stoker is a classic in this genre. So any game with the typical undead ghouls, ghosts, vampires and the like could fall into this genre. One other area that I like to think about is if the plane…

Hey Storytellers, If you have ever played the Witcher III you know exactly what this is. If you haven't, go pick it up on gog.com it is worth the cost. Regardless, psychological choices is when you give your players free choice to make a decision that will have a lasting impact on the gaming world in which they are playing. You can make these decis…

Here we talk about how you can use psychological horror in your RPG. This genre focuses on mental, emotional, and psychological states to frighten, disturb, or unsettle its audi…

Hello Storytellers, Today we explore the numerous subgenres of horror. Some of these I would never work into my game without express permission from my players. You never know what people's buttons are and horror is the one that will push many buttons (known or unknown). Of course, some elements of horror can be used in any major genre. The abandon…

Hey Storytellers, It can be hard to remember all of the things you wanted to include in your game sessions as the months (and years) move on. All of the cool things you thought you wanted, the twists, and the reveals get lost as time wears on. Then once you remember it you aren't sure how to put it back in since you haven't been foreshadowing it fo…

Hey Storytellers, Discover the different types of genres at a high level and how you can center a game around them. Some RPG systems are designed to tell different genres better than others, but that doesn't mean that your weekly game session can't have an element of other genres. Think of it as a sitcom. Around Halloween, they have a light horror …

Hey Storytellers, Discover how to involve and get your player's buy-in for your next campaign. I have found that taking an hour to play this game about a month before I or any of the other storytellers at my table get ready for a new campaign helps us all get excited about the new game, and give our input into it. I personally have found that my pl…

Hey Storytellers, In this episode, we talk about how to take a concept from a standard monster and change it fundamentally to create a new monster. How can you take a siren from Greek mythology and change it to use fear to lure their victims toward them? Then apply this to other monsters in your game. This helps as well if you have a meta gamer (or…
