偶数週は、東京在住の日米夫婦・健一とレイチェルが主人公。「これ英語で何て言うのかな？」を考えます
「尻馬に乗る」 follow ～ blindly
(Rachel and Kenichi are out shopping)
Kenichi: I'm starting to get hungry.
Rachel: Me, too. And my feet hurt.
Kenichi: What do you feel like eating?
Rachel: Hmm. How about Chinese?
Kenichi: Sure. (He sees a group of people talking in Chinese walk into a Chinese restaurant) How about that restaurant? If Chinese people think it's worth it, it must be good.
Rachel: Anything that's close is fine. I need to get off my feet.
(Half an hour later)
Kenichi: What do you think of the food?
Rachel: Um. I've had better. Do you think this is what authentic Chinese food is like, though?
Kenichi: It doesn't look like the group of Chinese people we followed in here are enjoying their food that much, either.
Rachel: Could it be that they're tourists and they just walked into the first Chinese restaurant they saw without knowing anything about it?
Kenichi: ... I guess I rode on someone's butt horse.
Rachel: (Laughing) What? Is that another one of your Japanese sayings directly translated into English?
Kenichi: I guess so. I meant that I followed those people blindly. It probably isn't a good idea to make assumptions about people.
