SkyFall (2012)

The 23rd Bond film, and the third starring Daniel Craig started to reintroduce elements from earlier films that the reboot of Casino Royale had taken out, such as Q and Miss Moneypenny, but they did this without getting too cheesy.

Directed by Sam Mendes, and featuring a chilling villain in Mr Silva played by Javier Bardem with a standout theme song by Adele this was a top-class Bond film. And like all the Daniel Craig films it doesn’t end with Bond sailing away into the sunset with the latest Bond girl – it ends with the tragic death of Judi Dench’s M.

In addition to the usual marketing by the distributors, Skyfall was loaded with product placements from the likes of Heineken, Honda, Sony and Coca Cola, all of whom ran their own, huge, innovative and viral marketing campaigns.
