There is a possible link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and blood clots, according to the European Medicines Agency. The EMA's safety committee says unusual blood clots with low blood platelets should be listed as very rare side effects of the vaccine. The organisation published the findings of its review yesterday afternoon. We are also hearing that Under 30s in the UK will be offered Moderna or Pfizer vaccine instead of AstraZeneca where possible, due to the very rare risk of blood clots Dr. Mary Ryan, Consultant Endocrinology at Bon Secour Limerick and Aut Even Hospital Kilkenny and she spoke to Fran on Tipp Today this morning.
