As predicted, the Starbucks unionization effort has started to grow and is now getting rooted in other jurisdictions, namely Mesa, Arizona this week. If that’s not enough, another effort is underway at an iconic family-owned restaurant chain in small town West Virginia. We’ll update you on the latest and greatest as unions continue setting their sights on the restaurant industry. And a key legislative threat to the industry this year, the FAST Act in California has been exported to the local level - the city of Detroit believe it or not. Justin Winslow, the President & CEO of the Michigan Restaurant Association joins us to discuss the efforts by industry opponents to take their issue agendas to the local level and why everybody - no matter where they are - should be paying attention to what’s happening in Detroit.
