Manage episode 274991277 series 2800084
This episode is a must listen!!! Alex Sime, a returning citizen who completed 27 years in prison on a 25-to-Life sentence, sits down with The Returning Citizen: Life After Incarceration podcast host, John Figueroa, to discuss the harsh realities of reentry into society since his release from prison.
In this interview, Alex discusses being incarcerated at the age of 17, and describes the rocky journey to his transformation. It was a rough road during the outset of his incarceration, but even then, the seeds of transformation were being planted, and would later manifest themselves in him breaking free of his negative lifestyle!
Alex shares a keen understanding of the influences that shaped his mentality, and candidly discusses the poor decisions that made his life unnecessarily difficult. More importantly, Alex is able to articulate being able to walk away from a negative lifestyle, embrace a positive one - and break free from the chains of destruction in his life!
