In this episode our founder Nour Hassan speaks to Egyptian-American fashion designer Mina Tahir whose design sensibility seamlessly blends her heritage, artwork, and textiles with the past, present, and future.
She is a graduate of the BFA Fashion Design program at Parsons School of Design and was awarded the CFDA Future Fashion Graduate, as well as the CFDA+ Award for her thesis collection “Youth” which explores the relationship between Eastern and Western subcultures through the use of technological advances via the re-contextualization of traditional crafts and dress. Mina Tahir is known for being a sustainable brand.
In 2021, Mina Tahir was named one of the Debut Talent finalists for the Fashion Trust Arabia Award for her namesake brand. Her work has been featured in Vogue Italia, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, GQ, and others.
