Do U.S. voters care about Israel?
Manage episode 428403927 series 3563129
Does the U.S. public care about Israel and, more broadly, domestic and international terrorism?
The recent U.S. presidential debates highlighted the diverging policy positions of former President Trump and incumbent President Biden regarding Israel and the Middle East. Recent polling shows that while concerns over terrorism and protecting U.S. interests abroad rank as the top priorities for voters' foreign policy issues, Israel does not.
Dominique is joined by Garrett Exner, Adjunct Fellow at The Hudson Institute, to discuss Trump and Biden's Middle East policies and the possible outcomes for regional stability come November 5th.
The top priorities for voters are preventing the spread of weapons of mass, taking measures to protect the U.S. from terrorist attacks, maintaining U.S. military advantage abroad, and limiting Chinese and Russian influence.
These concerns are intrinsically linked to the health of the historic U.S.-Israel bilateral relationship.
Which candidate is best positioned to address these concerns?
