The Philadelphia Eagles - mainly their offense - completely imploded during the opening week game against Washington, and will face a tough opponent in the Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday. The offense definitely needs a recharge and re-tooling. Joining us this week to dive into this more is Ed Kracz, the Eagle Maven at SI.com. It was a great interview and discussion as Ed broke down what happened from week 1, and what we'll need to see from this Eagles team in week 2.
But first, we discussed how the opening week of the NFL season proved to be costly with injuries for teams. Are we starting to see how important preseason games really are? (approx. 4:15)
From there, we responded to listener feedback about Philly sports kryptonite, and how this Phillies pitching staff is going to see trouble in the future. (approx. 13:00)
We also discussed the reports of Mike D'Antoni possibly becoming the next head coach for the Philadelphia 76'ers. (approx. 26:00)
On the Highbrow Segment this week, we talked about sports psychology. when athletes have been living in a bubble, and playing their sport without fans in the stadiums. What does this do to athletes who have always had fans at games? Does is change their performance and in-game situations? (approx. 34:00)
This week on the Lowbrow Segment, we've got a new top-3 list: the worst nicknames in sports history. (approx. 44:55)
What we're throwing down on the Table this week is an in-depth interview and discussion with Ed Kracz, the Eagle Maven at SI.com, reflecting on week 1 of the Eagles season, and what we can expect from this Birds offense in week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams. We got into Carson Wentz's struggles, Doug Pederson's stubborn play calling, Jalen Mills on defense, and Zach Ertz's situation. All of this and much more this week on the Table! (approx. 58:50)
