Is Woke is a bad word because those who seek to hide the horrors of their actions want those inflicted by them to pretend that the pain suffered never happened? An oppressor can turn away from the agony that he/she has caused, but that won’t keep them from hearing the cries of those whom they harmed. Woke is not a black word, but a call for oppressors to acknowledge their own wrong doings of the past and of today.
