Time is one of our most precious commodities and we can choose how to spend it.

In today’s episode, we reflect upon our relationship with time and provide ideas to change it for the better.

Using a mindful lens to reflect upon time provides spaciousness. It helps you make intentional shifts so you can do more of what it is you want to be doing.

Time passes no matter what. Time scarcity is a stressor for many. We often judge how we use our time. Can we instead see time as an opportunity with many choices about how we want to spend it?

Perfectionism shapes beliefs about time. Giving away time unconditionally, especially, in the practice of medicine leads to depletion, moral injury and illness. This was expected of us as healers, especially in training. As attendings, we come to realize that this perpetual giving costs us our well-being, our identities, and our abilities to do more of what we want in life.

We invite you to choose an abundant time mindset with intention. You can choose to “reclaim your time” and be mindful of your frame of reference which influences your perception of the rate at which time passes.

We offer the concept of “Mindful Time” to help you experience time with equanimity, spaciousness, and abundance.

Today’s Mindful Moment is a Mindful Time practice- to help you shift from time scarcity and stress to reclaiming time in the present.
