It's News Day Tuesday! Sam and Emma speak with Aaron Kleinman, director of research for the States Project at Future Now, to discuss the biggest state legislature races coming up in November. Aaron Kleinman then joins, jumping right into exactly *what* makes this upcoming election such a close fight well beyond the Presidency, looking at electoral shifts left in Midwest Blue Wall states and what Washington’s upcoming top-two primary might be able to tell us about these states come November, and tackling whether the Sunbelt’s curious rightward shift in 2022 will see a reversal, particularly with the role of abortion on the ballot. After expanding on the States Project’s project, how they assess the needs of different candidates and races, and unpacking the major funding gaps in funding for Democratic candidates on the federal and state levels, Kleinman highlights Wisconsin’s myriad tight races in the wake of redistricting and wraps up by touching on the potential Mark Robinson effect in North Carolina.

And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma dive deep into the complete failure of basic journalistic responsibilities that has been the ongoing controversy around Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s criticism of the Michigan AG’s prosecution of pro-Palestinian protesters, walking through each step of the distortion of Tlaib’s genuine critiques by AG Nessel and CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, and the network’s ultimate doubling-down on the story. After parsing through Missouri’s pending execution of Marcellus Williams, the MR Team watches Eric Weinstein unpack the Marxism behind some of Kamala Harris’ most famous musings, dissect some polling and election previews with John from San Antonio, and discuss the inhumanity of the anti-Haitian hate coming out of the GOP with William in Indiana. Jacob from Indiana helps the show tackle the continuing conflation of anti-semitism and anti-Zionism, and Megyn Kelly watches Dave Rubin stroke his ego as they explore why his getting tied up in dark Russian money was actually a DOJ conspiracy to punish conservative media, plus, your calls and IMs!
