In this week’s episode Eoin chats with Alan Sothern (@alansothern).
Alan is a professional Hockey player representing Ireland. He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 13 and made his international Hockey debut less than 5 years later.
He has played professional Hockey in Ireland, Belgium and Holland and won a European Bronze medal with the Irish team in 2015. Just one year later, he fulfilled his childhood dream of competing at an Olympic Games when he played at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Alan is a massive inspiration to anyone living with Type 1 Diabetes (to anyone for that matter), and proves that Diabetes shouldn’t hold you back from working towards your dreams.
