This sexy, sun-drenched, Sonoma-set drama tells the story of two intertwined but warring Latinx families vying for land, power, and control over the ultra-competitive California wine business. Blending family and business is complicated. Watch the series premiere of Promised Land Monday at 10/9c on ABC!

Hey Amiga, welcome to a brand-new episode of The Fearless Mujer! On Season 2 Episode 38 I’m getting real about something that kind of bothers me, and that is the idea of “faking it ‘til you make it.” But before I dive in, let me just say that if you subscribe to this belief, Girl do your thing because I’m not here to judge. You don’t have to agree with me, that’s the beauty of this beautiful sisterhood we can agree to disagree and still love each other, right? I’m just here to share my heart over this Cafecito Chat but also to challenge this belief because I’m not quite sure it’s helping anyone really show up as who they are authentically. I mean the word fake literally means something counterfeit or something that’s not genuine, and that just doesn’t entice me. Do you really want to show up as a counterfeit version of who you are?

A big reason why fake it ‘til you make it doesn’t sit well with me, is because I think about the Mujer who is struggling with imposter syndrome and fears that she isn’t good enough. Would the idea that she should portray herself to be someone other than who she is really help her show up as who she truly is at her core? I’m not so sure!

There are so many Mujeres who are struggling with seeking validation from others, and if fake it ‘til you make it is a way to somehow be accepted and validated, then I’m not so sure this is the best way for anyone to strive to be a better version of who they are.

I would love to hear your thoughts about this topic. Has fake it ‘til you make it worked for you?
